Google Maps, already the provider of somewhat questionable directions, has added a new feature: Street View. The view is so detailed, you can see faces, signs, and license plates. Currently, there are only a few cities featured such as San Francisco and New York.

It’s kind of neat, in a way. You can use Street Maps to take your own tour. It would be interesting to see a few non-US cities, especially those I haven’t been too. But there are truly some privacy issues at stake here — one Boing Boing reader was able to find her own cat. Are we all ready to be immortalized forever in Google (any more than we already are)?
