The Mysteries of the Blue (it’s a Metafilter post)
Those of us who read Metafilter via RSS have run into a interesting problem: the feeds include deleted posts. I run into them all the time and it’s a bit frustrating — if it’s bad enough to delete why is it good enough to appear in my feed?
A reader wondered if these removed posts could be kept out of the feed. Oddly, the follow up discussion which inspired dozens of haiku:
is “RSS feed”
four syllables, or just two?
hmmm, i’ll go with four.
Wait, people pronounce
it like “arse feed”? Because that
would be fucking awesome.
I am sad to say
That I can’t write poetry
Wish I took less math
Do you need a hug?
Metatalk is not the place
to look for such things.
So can the deleted posts be removed from the feed?
“RSS feed scrubbed?
Can I skip deleted posts?”
mathowie: No way.
Wanting a pony
Can sometimes lead to heartbreak
You must persevere
Naturally, there’s an RSS feed just for the deleted posts, should you want such a thing:
